an outset video.

  • Pre-production

    A typical Outset video will begin with a meeting to get to know you, your business and what you want to create and achieve with a video.

    From this meeting we will write a creative brief for the project which showcases in detail exactly what the video will entail, how we will make it and all the costs involved. Once this is confirmed we will start mapping out the production with a complete logistics break down of the project in what we call a production schedule.

    This will include details of locations, actors & participants, hour by hour plan for the filming and all relevant information regarding the shoot.

  • Filming

    Filming, or as we like to call it shooting, for us is the most fun part of the video production process.

    This is where we begin start to make the ideas we put forward in the creative brief a reality. We provide all of the equipment, the cameras, lighting, sound and grip ( a fancy word for the boring stuff, tripods, extension cables, lighting stands etc).

    We manage the set, the actors or people participating in the video and most importantly direct and produce amazing video content ready for the next stage of production

  • Editing / Delivery

    This is the final stage of production where we take the footage into the edit suite and begin piecing together the story in three versions; the first, second and final cut.

    The first cut is a skeleton of the story and is made up of key footage that progresses the narrative. The second cut is where we begin to really shape the video with transitions, visual effects, sound effects and graphic overlays. The final cut will have a full colour grade (example below) and the videos will be prepared for delivery in broadcast and digital formats.

    We offer two feedback sessions after the first cut and second cut where you can make suggestions to help shape the final video.
